SUTRA realised the importance of disseminating the information that was gathered during its various programmes and published several books and booklets.

Textiles from India: The Global Trade (2005), edited by Rosemary Crill. This book documents the papers presented at SUTRA's first conference, 'SUTRA: Thread,Ties and Transformations' (2003) which told the story of India's historic international trade in textiles.
Batik Sutra: Tagore, Travels and Textiles (2011)

This booklet accompanied the seminar and exhibition 'Batik Sutra' (November 2011) which focused on Rabindranath Tagore's contribution to India's textile heritage, when he introduced Batik painting at Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, inspired by the batiks he encountered on his visit to Java in 1927.
Three booklets were published alongside exhibitions held at the 'Colours of Nature' event in Kolkata (February 2014) whose theme was natural dyes.
